A Lover's Pen

It’s a random summer night
When life’s glory was fading away.
On my way to home
Through a petrichor so wild
to pull me into the memories.
Freedom, like thunder in darkness
I roared myself into childhood.
Slowly, eyes began speaking
with salted signatures of love.
The shadow of droplets
As I slowly slide in time
Left a mark of vulnerability.
That window reminded me of a gate
beyond which a life was spent
and was forgotten in time…
